Hair loss and replacement?

3 parts please :)

1. How much is average hair loss per day?

2. How much is average hair growth (not length, but actual follicles coming new out of scalp)?

3. Between the two, more than average hair loss and average hair regrowth, will I be going bald or noticeably thin hair and how quick?

Also, are circumstances different for hair falling out from root or just breaking off along the shaft? Thanks...I have had beautiful thick hair all my life and I don't want to lose it due to some stupid thermal straightening perm which I now regret.

Hair loss and replacement?

Lol. Ok, relax, hun.

1. We lose about 50-100 strands of hair a day naturally. It's usually enough to cover a shower drain or show up on your hairbrush. This is completely normal and part of the hair's regenerating process.

2. Hair grows, on average, about a half an inch to one inch a month, depending on the person. But this only accounts for the hair on your head. The natural 100 strands you lose every day are replaced much quicker than that. Our hair sheds and regenerates itself daily, just like our skin. Oh, and contrary to popular belief, trimming hair every six weeks DOESN'T make it grow any faster; it just eliminates split ends which tend to make hair look weak, brittle and frizzy.

3. Chances are, if you're like most women, you won't be noticing any significant changes in your hairline due to natural daily hair "loss." Just be sure to care for your hair by using the proper products suited for your new hair type. Pantene Daily Moisture Renewal is great for hair that's been thermal reconditioned and really helps bring out hair's natural luster. Chill out! Your hair isn't going to fall out overnight. But, over time, repeated chemical processing does wear on your hair and can cause it to break, and even fall out. Proceed with caution.

Hair loss and replacement?

bould heded !

Hair loss and replacement?

Normally you will loose up to 100 hair per day. Every 30 day's or so you will loose a little bit more due to the fact that the body is replacing itself.

Hair will grow about 1/4 to 1/2 inch every 4 to 6 weeks. All depends on you metabolism.

The easiest way to tell if your hair is falling out from the root or breaking off is to look for a ball at one end. If you do not see the ball it is breakage.

If it is breaking I suggest a product by "Nexxus" called "Keraphix". If your hair is long use a tablespoon of the product if short a teaspoon. Distributer the product evenly throughout your hair and place a plastic bag over your hair. Heat a dampened old towel in the microwave an turban it around your head. Let cool and rinse with cool water. Repeat weekly.

If you follow these instructions your hair will be more healthy.

I've been a licensed cosmetologist for thirty years.

Hope this helps. and good luck.
