Do-it-yourself hair transplants - is it possible?

I had a thought about thinning hair. I am getting thin on top, and I want to try some stuff first, like Rogaine, etc.

But it occurred to me that I could do my OWN hair transplants. Getting it done by a professional is obviously quicker and less painful - but INSANELY expensive.

AS I understand it, they pull individual hairs out at the root from the back of your head, then make tiny incisions in the top of your head and insert the follicles there. They have to do like 1000 follicles.

Couldn't I pluck the hair out by ther roots off the back of my head, then use a very fine needle (strelized, of course) to poke holes in my scalp, and then insert the follicles? Of course it would be difficult and painstaking. Depending on how much pain I could endure, I could do 1000 transplants in under a year if I did three a day. Painful, yes - but FREE.

Is this possible?

Love Jack

Not only is it possible, but it can be FUN, and rewarding. I suggest using your poobic hairs, though. They're much easier to see. Along with a full head of beautiful, soft hair, you'll end up with a Brazilian poob job. Good luck, and enjoy.

P.S...send us some pic's.

Hmmmmmmm..... Let me know how that works out!

Do-it-yourself hair transplants - is it possible?

NO NO NO NO, do not even try it! If you want a raging infection on the top of your head, go for it, how are you going to see to get one tiny hair in a pin hole, Think about it!

Do-it-yourself hair transplants - is it possible?

I don't know if it's possible, but it's damn funny!

Just shave the rest of your hair off, and be a hot, confident bald guy. That's what my bf did, and he looks very hot!

Do-it-yourself hair transplants - is it possible?

ALOT more complicated. They actually do a scalp reduction and cut each individual follicle out and create hundreds of incisions in the area to transplant them. UMMMMM you could bleed to death!

So I am HIGHLY NOT recommending.

15+ doing those type of things!!!!!!!!

Don't be a dumb@$$, don;t go poking holes in your head. You're not a professional, you have no training in this. There is not 'do it yourself hair transplant' then there is a "do it yourself boob job''.

That wouldn't even work anyway. Just putting hairs in your punctured head isn't going to work.

I'd not risk it as that's a medical procedure and since you have no in-depth knowledge of surgical procedures or dermatology, you don't know how your skin would react to doing something like that. And, look at it like this - trying it could risk scaring the NOW HEALTHY follicles in the back, resulting in you permanently damaging them to the point where hair no longer grows there either.

Make certain when you try this you videotape every minute of it and upload it on youtube. I wanna see!
