my hair used to grow reasonably fast, but starting from since i could rmb, my hair seem to cease growing, or i could hardly notice they have actually grown a bit. I desperately want to have long hair i used to have, as my natural curly locks make my hairstyle look like a mushroom(but not those nice ones u can see in salon catalogues). Also, i dunno whether it's the problem of my scalp or follicle, but my hair always appear to be extremely oily. Having tried lots of brands, neither of them helps solving the problem. I have been unhappy with every aspects of my hair for so long!

As far as hair growth, nothing you put on hair can make it grow. The best thing to do is make sure your diet is healthy with plenty of calcium and vitamin E and make sure you drink enough water. You likely don't have a problem with your scalp or follicle unless you notice thinning hair or have some kind of irritation on your scalp. Getting regular trims can also keep the ends from splitting. You need to find a stylist you trust (look at your friends or coworkers whose hair you like and find out where they go) and make sure they understand your goal of long hair, and ask them for advice on products to use for oily hair.

Use a shampoo that's clarifying, or you can see through that won't leave build-up.
If your hair gets oily during the day, spray it with some hairspray and brush it through.. that can help soak up some oil.
Only put conditioner on the ends of your hair, never your scalp.
You could also see your doctor... if your hair seems to be thinning, you might have a problem with your thyroid.
