I've heard that rinsing your hair with cold water makes it shiny and soft, and I've found that to be true. If you rinse with it at the end of your shower, it closes and smooths the follicle. But, does that mean that if you rinse your hair with HOT water at the BEGINNING of your shower, it will make it more vulnerable to conditioner and softer in the end, after you rinse in cold? Thanks for the help, guys.
Rinsing hair with cold water....what about hot water.?
your theory is true, but if you color your hair, you dont want to get shampoo under the cuticle or itll accellerate the fading of your color, so you should shampoo in cold and rinse, then warm it up, condition, and rinse out the conditioner with cool again.
Rinsing hair with cold water....what about hot water.?
i wash it with hot water and at the end i use really cold water
Rinsing hair with cold water....what about hot water.?

Rinsing hair with cold water....what about hot water.?
I heard both cold and hot water damages your hair. Apparently you should be rinsing your hair with warm water.
Rinsing hair with cold water....what about hot water.?
i know that its actually bad for your hair if you wash it with too hot of water... it actually fries it like a straightener, just not as much. I would do it with warm water but not too hot, i personally cant take a cold shower.
Rinsing hair with cold water....what about hot water.?
yes it is true, it seals the cuticle and make your hair more manageable too. it also seals in color better, that's why stylists usually wash clients hair with cold water...prevents hair color from running and blending into other colors.

Hmmmmm.... in the winter, I cant stand cold water. Ill start rinsing my hair with cold water. Thanks. And I think it should, yes, and if it doesnt it wont make a difference.
Rinsing hair with cold water....what about hot water.?
hot water opens up the follicules so itll make the conditioner absorb better as long as u dont make it too hot. so ya hot then cold is a good idea.
Rinsing hair with cold water....what about hot water.?
i usually rinse it with the cold water and use hot water at the beginning (liek before shampoo or conditioner!!)
it helps make it smooth and shiny afterwards too.
I like doing that better because the hot water rinse made it frizzy and poofy.
goo dluck..
hope i helped

I do not know. I do know that hot water makes my hair feel dryer even when wet and the conditioner does work as well. I usually rinse with cold or mild tempature water before applying conditioner. the conditioner takes better. this is from experience.
Rinsing hair with cold water....what about hot water.?
Yes when you use hot water at the beginning of the shower it opens up the hair follicle allowing it to soak up the conditioner better. Then the cold rinse seals all the moisture in leaving you with really soft, shiny hair.
Rinsing hair with cold water....what about hot water.?
found that when i rinse with cold water t takes a lot longer for my hair to dry
Rinsing hair with cold water....what about hot water.?
I wouldn't use HOT water, just whatever you use on your body should be fine.
Just figure I'd specify, I know my tap gets superhot.
I use the warm/hotish water to wash my hair with, and as a final rinse I use the cold tap.
Your theory sounds good.
Rinsing hair with cold water....what about hot water.?
yeah, i rinse the shampoo out with warm water, then apply conditioner, then rinse the conditioner out with cool water.
thats the theory.

I've actually experimented with this often...
If you have really thick hair, I would suggest using Luke-warm water in the beginning of your shower. Don't use really hot because it's actually pretty bad for your pores and your hair. By using cold water, you're not only closing up large looking pores but helping keep them hyrdrated, thus creating a matte-finish look.
So, start with luke-warm water, then, right before conditioning change to a colder temperature - however much your body can handle - and finish with that temperature water. You'll find your hair is a lot easier to brush, you'll have less split ends, and it'll feel better.
Make sure you keep this up though. Doing it once a week won't get the real effect. I'm 100% Italian, so I have Italian curls. Using this method truley works! Good luck!
Rinsing hair with cold water....what about hot water.?
I found that to be true..
Before you apply shampoo or conditioner, it is better to rinse your hair in hot water so that the hair strands will absorb it. Then after showering with hot water, rinse your hair with cold water to lock the strands and it will make it soft and shiny. Tried that and it works! =)
